Happy Week 9 Families,
What an amazing and busy term we have had at St Mary's. We have had many events to celebrate such as Fathers Day Breakfast, Cake Stalls and Open afternoon just to name a few!
Term 4 is looking to be another really busy Term at St Mary's so I encourage you to pay particular attention to our date claimers.
Next week we head out on our annual Cultural camp, at Valla, with Years 3-6. Last year was such a success and I really looking forward to spending time with our students in nature, on Country.
A reminder for all families about the Kincoppal Holiday program that is running in the first week of the holidays.
Wishing you all a very safe and relaxing October holidays.
Nadine

St Mary's has a new addition to the school farm, they are chicken's! Our K/1 students put some eggs in the incubator and hatched some cute little chicken's.
2/3 have been learning through different experiments and investigations how materials can be changed, manipulated and combined. They have been identifying how materials can be changed and combined depending on their particular purpose.
Their assessment task was to design a suspension bridge and use toy cars to see if their bridge passes the test of strength.
We are learning how the states (solids, liquids, and gases) of materials can be changed and manipulated. We have conducted experiments to explore the changes that occur to materials when they are combined, e.g., bicarbonate of soda and vinegar creating carbon dioxide. We have also identified soluble materials and explored how to separate solutions, such as evaporating salt from water.
Our payment methods have changed recently. We now have Bpay for school fee payments. Payment of school fees can be done via Centrepay, Compass or Bpay. These details are listed at the bottom of your school fee statement.
Our bank account details have also changed (see new details below). Direct deposit to our bank account is to be used for payment of school uniform or one off payments specified by the school.
The program runs from the Monday 30th September to Thursday 3rd October with a special lunch being held on Thursday at 12.30pm with the invite extended to all students, family and firends.
During the week students will be supervised by four Kincoppal-Rose bay school teachers and eight Year 11 students. Also, Aunty Brenda, Uncle Ricky and Uncle Dean will also be supervising during the program.
Each day starts at 8.30am with breakfast, morning tea, lunch & afternoon tea provided and the day ends at 3pm every day (please make sure you drop off and pick up your child at these times).
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday will be held at St Mary's however Wednesday 2nd October will be an excursion to the Big Banana. This excursion has a cap of 25 students due to bus transport restrictions. Permission notes that arrived after the 25 child cap will only allow for these students to attend all days except Wednesday. Families have been contacted to inform them that the excursion is full and their child is unable to travel by bus with Kincoppal to the Big Banana for this excursion.
