Shrove Tuesday & Ash Wednesday

On Tuesday 13th February our 5/6 Students cooked pancakes for the school. Traditionally pancakes are associated with Shrove Tuesday, the day preceding Lent, because they are a way to use up rich foods such as eggs, milk, and sugar, before the fasting season of the 40 days of Lent.

Ash Wednesday marks the start of the holy season of Lent, a time for reflection and repentance in preparation for the celebration of Easter. Students attended a whole school Ash Wednesday Mass on Wednesday 14th February.
