Community Notices
Giinagay Families and Carers,
We have started off our Term very busy at St Mary's! Zone Cross Country, Walk to School safely day, Community breakfast, and our beautiful Mothers Day afternoon just to name a few. It was so wonderful to see so many of our families here for our community breakfast, a great way to start our Friday!
Barrmarrany Girrwaa
Next Wednesday evening, we are launching our new family consultation model. This group Barrmarrany Girrwaa (has been established to connect with our families and be together as a community to work together to make our school the best it can be. We will gather at 5.30pm at St Mary's to create community and talk about what matters most for our children and our school. There will be dinner provided and child minding for the little ones.
I really look forward to welcoming our parents and carers in for some time together. Please register by phoning the school or registering on the link provided on our flyer.
School survey
Just a friendly reminder to all our parents, that we have a current survey which is live to capture your thought and ideas about St Mary's. The link is: http://tellthemfromme.com/stmarysbowra I appreciate the time it takes to give us feedback which lead to further school directions.
Hair & Head Lice
Families, I know I sound like a broken record, but can we please ensure children (girls) are coming to school with their hair up? We have a high amount of head lice in our school currently also, so it would be wonderful if families can do a head lice check. The school has head lice treatment packs available if you require some, just let us know.
Looking forward to hopefully connecting with you all next Wednesday,
Nadine

Year 2/3 working in groups to create some mural's for Art. These mural are rainforest landscapes and are based around the book 'Where the Rainforest Meets the Sea'. The purpose behind creating these artworks is to focus on children’s composition and performance using appropriate tone, colours and dynamic control for expressive purposes.
Year 5/6 have been writing reports on what family means to them. They start by brain storming ideas then converting these ideas into a Google Doc
To kick off Catholic Schools Week, St Mary's held an early open afternoon on the 3rd April and welcomed our Families & Community into our school.
On this afternoon we had the opening of our Yarning Circle and School Farm which was led by our Year 6 leaders.
Afterwards families were able to explore the classrooms and learning spaces. Our students were more than happy to show their families around.
On Friday 5th April our students walked to Hennessey Tape Oval for our School Cross Counrty. Conratulations to Thomas, Djanaambi, Regent, Sage, Sonny & Archie for making it through to Zone Cross Country.
On Wednesday 15th some of our students attended the Zone Cross Country at Kempsey. We are proud of our students for representing our school at this event.
Congratulations to Sonny who came 3rd place in his race and has made it through to Diocese Cross Country.
The Macksville show was held on the 12th & 13th April. Our students had a display set up in the pavillion. They worked hard on the items they put into the display and it looked great! Our school cow stood out the front.
On Thursday 25th April our Staff and Students attended the ANZAC day commemorations in the Bowraville township.
Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations and the contribution and suffering of all those who have served.
Marty was a flag bearer, Aaliyah & Peyton laid the wreath and Archie read the poem 'Soul of Australia'.
On Friday 10th May we welcomed all the special women in our students lives to come for a Mother's Day Afternoon. It was great to hear so many laughs and happy faces. Thankyou to all our our wonderful mothers and carers in our students lives!
Some of our stage 3 students visit Bowraville Community Preschool every Friday to read and spend time with their new little friends. The preschooler's also enjoy spending time with the 'big kids'.
All of our families recieved $50 vouchers last Friday as part of the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR) program. This program is to help students purchase additional school equipment/clothing.
A big thankyou to Katie Heather from Jaanymili Bawrrungga for organising these vouchers for our students.
